[Important News] Panasonic Donates for Earthquake Victims in Northeast Japan

Panasonic Corporation announced today the company will donate 300 million yen and necessary supplies including 10 thousand radios, 10 thousand flashlights and 500 thousand dry batteries to support the swift recovery of the northeast area of Japan affected by the strong earthquake on March 11.

Due to large electricity shortages, Panasonic Group is also calling out to save electricity and will start by turning off outdoor signage and refraining from using electricity at all applicable facilities.

Panasonic Group and its employees sincerely hope for swift recovery of the people and areas affected by the disaster.

Update: Panasonic announced today donations of 4,000 units of Solar LED Lanterns in addition to previous donations announced on March 12, 2011 for the victims of the Northeast Japan earthquake. Panasonic and its Workers Unions Association will also launch a fund-raising campaign involving employees of the Panasonic Group companies to support the affected area. (March 15, 2011)

Update: Panasonic Corporation announced the company will donate one unit of Panasonic's Life Innovation Container to aid victims of the earthquake which struck the northeast region of Japan on March 11. (March 29, 2011)

Update: Panasonic Corporation announced the company shipped an additional 40,000 units of flashlights to the northeastern region of Japan which was struck by the March 11 earthquake to aid victims in the region. (March 31, 2011)
